Unlike in traditional poker, there is no pot in Caribbean stud since the goal of every player in this game is just to get a better poker hand than the dealer's. Players who will try Caribbean stud should make an ante bet at the start of the game. They can also place a side bet but it is optional. When all the ante bets of players have been placed, the dealer will start distributing five cards to each player. The dealer will also get five cards, four of the cards will be faced down while the remaining will be faced up.

Players will be given the chance to assess the value of their cards. At this stage of the game, players may use the faced-up card of the dealer in deciding whether they will fold or raise their ante bets. If players have decided to fold, then all the bets that they have placed will be lost including their side bets. Meanwhile, when they raise, they will double the amount of the ante bet that they have placed at the start of the game.

Afterwards, the cards of the dealer and the players will be revealed. The dealer must have a king and an ace to qualify and if the dealer does not have these cards, then the players win. If ever the dealer have these cards and has a better poker hand than the players, then all the bets placed by the players will be lost. However, if the dealer qualifies and a player has stronger poker hand, that player wins and will receive paybacks according to the hand ranking that beat the dealer's cards.

Caribbean stud is a fast-paced game so players will still have other time that they can use to try other casino games. Hence, its rules are not complicated and very easy so even amateur players can easily play this game.
